Luca

This sequence was the majority of my time spent on Luca. I worked on some other parts of the film but this was far and away the most complex and rewarding.

Throughout the sequence the sun is setting and subtly changing colour. I had to carefully transition the position of the key from start to finish whilst trying to maintain continuity.

The set itself is also challenging as the cliff walls have a funnel shape that would easily flatten out and be lifeless with the wrong sun angle. There are actually 4 or 5 suns in the setup so that there was freedom to art direct the shaping of the set.

I lit the entire sequence from start to finish, early key lighting and blocking, through to final shot lighting and finishing.
